Appreciating the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Zhenjiang and Presenting Compelling China Stories——“Chinese Bridge” online Delegation Exchange Program Begins







In the afternoon of January 2, 2023, the Chinese Bridge" online delegation exchange program Appreciating the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Zhenjiang and Presenting Compelling China Stories sponsored by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation and undertaken by the Language and Culture Center of Jiangsu University, was successfully launched in the "cloud".


Jiang Yonghua, the deputy director of the Language and Culture Center, Tang Min, the director of the International Chinese Language Teaching Department, all the teachers of the program and more than 230 overseas students from more than 20 countries, including Ethiopia, Nigeria, Pakistan, Zambia, Vietnam, Thailand, participated in the opening ceremony.

At the opening ceremony, the deputy director of Language and culture center Jiang Yonghua delivered a speech for the opening ceremony. Firstly he extended a warm welcome to the students who participated in this program. He told the students that the purpose of holding this Chinese Bridge Program was to share the Chinese intangible cultural heritage and establish precious friendship between China and other countries. This Online Chinese Bridge welcome many new friends and diversify course arrangements. We hope that students can constantly challenge themselves, learn Chinese well, and fully experience the rich and unique Chinese culture; At the same time, we also encourage all students to study diligently, apply what they have learned, and contribute to promoting cultural exchanges between China and their countries.







Subsequently, director of the International Chinese Language Teaching Department TangMin introduced the program, she said the Chinese Bridge will be carried out in an orderly manner by combining recorded and live courses on the Chinese Alliance platform and DingTalk teaching platform. The program mainly revolves around urban history, intangible cultural heritage stories, folk legends, historical sites, science and art, and leads students to appreciate Zhenjiang Intangible Cultural Heritage from the cloud, deeply understand the national culture and social value behind it. At the same time, this program also designs a very interesting and actionable practical session, like poetry recitation, poster facture. short video competitions and so on, which can stimulate students' interest and enthusiasm for participation.







The last session of the opening ceremony was for teachers and students to enjoy the propaganda film of Jiangsu University and two videos of Zimbabwean student Yang Jing, which is about Chinese intangible cultural heritage and telling stories about their hometown. The students said that through these two videos, they had a preliminary understanding of Jiangsu University and intangible cultural heritage of China, in the next ten days, they were full of expectations, looking forward to improving their Chinese level as good as Yang Jing, and improving their understanding of China's intangible culture. At last, Mr. Jiang wished the students success in their studies, and welcomed them to come to China, Zhenjiang, and Jiangsu University to experience Chinese culture.
