Recently, our school's Zimbabwean international student Michael Lordmark Mubaiwa, also known as 杨靖 (Yang Jing), achieved the top prize in the national finals of the third "Telling Chinese Stories in English" competition.

The third "Telling Chinese Stories in English" competition was jointly organized by China Education Television, the Ministry of Education's Center for Language Education and Cooperation, and New Channel International Education Group. Its aim is to vividly convey Chinese stories to the world. In the preliminary and intermediate stages of the competition, approximately 600 international students studying in China participated. Yang Jing's outstanding performance left a profound impression on the judges, earning him a spot in the national finals.

During the finals, Yang Jing competed in three segments: a themed speech, impromptu Q&A, and a talent show. With his fluent expression, humorous speaking style, and talent performance rich in Chinese elements, he secured the top spot and won the special award. Yang Jing's mentor, Professor Xu Dan, received the "Outstanding Mentor Award."

Our school's Language and Culture Center places a strong emphasis on innovative methods in international student education. Using approaches such as Chinese traditional culture and practical activities, "Telling Chinese Stories" events, and other activities that international students find enjoyable and engaging, we actively promote cultural education. These initiatives aim to deepen the understanding and identification of Chinese culture among international students, encouraging them to become storytellers of China's narrative and ambassadors for the dissemination of Chinese culture worldwide.
