From October 15 to 16, on the eve of the third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, Belt and Road Languages and Culture Network was officially established in Beijing. Over 60 universities and institutions from more than 50 countries were invited to serve as the first council member units. Jiangsu University (JSU) is among them and has become an official member of the Belt and Road Languages and Culture Network.
The Proprietor and Chief Editor of China Daily Qu Yingpu, the Vice Minister of the Ministry of Education of China Wang Guangyan, the Director of Belt and Road Center of National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) Zhai Dongsheng, Deputy Secretary of Central South University Prof. Jiang Jianxiang, President of City University of Macau Prof. Liu Jun, President of Russian Coordinating Committee of the English Teachers Association Svetlana V. Sannikova, President of the Italian Association of English Teachers Daniela Kukurulo, President of the Brazilian Association of English Teachers Sergio Monteiro, Founder and Former President of the African Association of English Teachers Aimen Shah jointly unveiled the Belt and Road Languages and Culture Network.
The network is a cross regional, cross lingual, and open international cooperation mechanism for language and culture, initiated by China Daily and jointly participated by linguistic, educational and cultural organizations at home and abroad. It is committed to strengthening the docking of language education policies among countries jointly building the Belt and Road, improving the language education level of countries, and promoting the language exchange of the Belt and Road. It will also strengthen cultural and people to people exchanges at home and abroad, tell a good story about the high-quality joint construction of the Belt and Road, and help the Belt and Road construction move steadily forward.
JSU will take this opportunity to further enhance communication with members of the network, promote high-quality resource sharing, so as to contribute more to improving the quality and efficiency of studying in China, enhancing global competency training, innovating the cultivation model of language talents, enhancing cultural exchange and mutual learning, and promoting a community with a shared future for mankind.
