The Folklore Culture Research and Practice Center of Jiangsu University was established in November 2012. It signed a cooperation contract with Zhenjiang Folk Culture and Art Museum and agreed to set up bases mutually. The "White Snake Legend" heritage base in Jiangsu University and "Jiangsu University Folk Culture Research and Practice Base" in Zhenjiang Folk Culture and Art Museum were set up respectively. They jointly undertake inheritance education training and subject research for a long time. Professor Xia Min, Communist Party secretary of the School of Liberal Arts chairs the center. Yu Hongyan, a folklore professor, serves as the base instructor. In 2015, Associate Professor Yu Hongyan was appointed as the folk expert at Zhenjiang Youth Comprehensive Practice Base.

Professor Xia Min, Communist Party secretary of the School of Liberal Arts (former deputy secretary and dean of the School of Law) signed a contract with associate researcher Luo Rongping, deputy director of Zhenjiang Folk Culture and Art Museum.
